Kim Delaney, an American actor best known for her role as Detective Diane Russell on ABC's NYPD Blue series for which she was awarded the Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is famous as the character Detective Diane Russell in ABC's series NYPD Blue. Also, she was a part of the drama series All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of the United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a housewife. Her upbringing was in a family which included four brothers. She dreamed of becoming a court reporter during her early years, but began modeling at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. As a teenager the first time she appeared as an actor was on the 1980 soap opera All My Children. Delaney is well-known as an actor who has appeared in many films, television shows, and dramas. Her professional career has been much more lucrative than her personal life. There were two divorces that failed and fought with addiction issues. Her custody in 2005 was removed from her.
